Mother's Day Magic

Mother's Day Magic

London | Covent Garden

Seven Dials Market is a bustling food hall in Covent Garden, in the heart of London. We wanted to create a moment of unexpected joy.

There was already a beautiful art installation at the venue — a giant banana bench framed by a flower arrangement above it (nothing to do with us). We decided to make it come alive with projection mapping and music, with Mother’s Day as the spark.

The Experience

01 — Visitors sat on the banana bench, as they would normally, for a rest or a photo.

02 — Then the wall behind them came to life. Animated flowers and butterflies bloomed across the surface, and the banana changed colour.

03 — They typed a greeting for their mother, which was projected onto a placard they were given. A perfect photo opportunity to share with friends and family.

It was all good fun :)

The Impact

“Thousands of visitors took part over the Mother’s Day weekend.”

Thousands of visitors took part. Most of them reached for their phones, not to scroll, but to photograph it and send it to their mothers. It proved that interactive technology doesn't have to be complicated to be effective. It just has to be engaging and human.
